“I grew up on the coast so I’ve always enjoyed the ocean, in Avalon on the Northern Beaches actually. I’ve always loved surfing and anything to do with ocean. I went to Macquarie Uni in Sydney to do my degree then moved too Scotland and worked as a chiropractor for two and a half years over there. I then went to Denmark for six months and worked there. I was lucky enough to get a job here in the Northern Rivers as soon as I came back, working in Goonellabah mainly and also Mullumbimby then I moved away to Mackay for 7 months. I’m now happy to be back in Lismore because this is where I want to be, where I’d like to settle.
I was always involved in a lot of sports, I used to paddle K1 canoes competitively and suffered some back injuries through that and surfing and I saw a chiropractor when I was about 17 with great results. I really enjoyed the concept and philosophy, also wanting to help people. I originally wanted to be a vet but realised working with people would be best for me.
Where I am working now is a family practise, treat people of all ages and we have an holistic approach so we look at the physical, chemical and emotional stresses that contribute to stress on the body and on the nervous system. we run monthly workshops which are complimentary on various aspects of health, immune health to brain health. It’s about helping people taking care of their own health because we want people to be the healthiest version of themselves that they can be.
I also play the saxophone, play music with some friends every week, not really a band just hanging out with some mates.
What I love about living here is being closer to nature, less crowded, more space and freedom, closer to national parks and also the ocean in this area, the variety of waves for me as a surfer, lots of different places to see and explore.”
