Shenka

“Many of the local people will know the face and remember Shenka Rains for her bubbly free flowing spirited personality, her blue tricycle and her much loved dog Ella. As many of you will be unaware that today brings much sadness to have had to say our goodbyes to Shenka. I went and visited her last week in Townsville and she said there were many Lismore friends she would loved to have been able to see and say her goodbyes to. So I personally am doing it for her, she loved Lismore and the people in her life, she mentioned Mary from the community gardens as a great friend and also Keith our local true hippy she said dropped into Lismore many years ago and just dropped out lol best quote I’ve heard for Lismore in my life. Shenka was diagnosed with cancer 15 years ago. It came back September last year and seeing her last week she was at peace with life and in the greatest care one could hope for. Shenka leaves behind 4 beautiful children, 2 girls and 2 boys from the ages of 21-46 and her best friend Ella dog . Much love to such a graceful lady at rest at the age of 65. She will always be in our hearts and memories. Her biggest support and hats of to her youngest daughter and her boyfriend for all the love, support and care they have given Shenka over the past year, they themselves have given her one years worth of a lifetime of love, support, comfort and memories one could only dream to have in a life time.
