Sarah -“We met when we were 16 and we’ve been together 2 years now. It makes me sad when you see kids growing up learning that intolerance is ok and in a background that’s homophobic, learning these behaviours that discriminate against people. When we met I was growing up with these beliefs myself, I hated gay people, I hated myself for about a year thinking it was horrible and wrong and I should change. Being around people who are supportive has helped me grow into it, accept myself and my sexuality and living here has helped to do that. We only ever have our date nights here in Lismore.
