“ I’m six years old and I started skateboarding when I was four and a half. I saw my Dad Michael’s skateboards on our walls. Dad stopped skateboarding before I was born because he broke his ankle. When my sister Indy turned two some friends brought little skateboards to play on. Mum noticed I was balancing well and rolling around on one foot. I didn’t want to stop. I was outside till it was too dark to see practising all the time.

A week later my Mum and Dad bought me a proper skateboard. I skate everyday. Even when I was in pre-school we went every day to the skatepark in Goonellabah and Wollongbar. Sometimes Byron and I got to ride Lismore’s old skatepark a few times before they pulled it down. Mum and Dad put a mini ramp in our back yard so we didn’t have to go every day to a skatepark.

Mum and Dad take me everywhere so I can skate. I was going into a competition in Byron but it was rained out so they might be having it in September and there’s another competition in Coffs Harbour coming I am hoping to go to.

I do other things I love as well. I go to the Lismore Conservatorium. I started off on guitar and now I do singing as well. I’m performing at the LOLA fest on August 23 and I’m singing in a trio and I’m also doing a solo. Indy sings all the time too. I draw myself skateboarding all the time.

My sister Indy is good at skateboarding too and she’s only three and a half. My hero skateboarder is Arisa Trew. I want to be that good and Tony Hawk is my favourite too. My Dad said I got him back into skating after 10 years. He can’t stop either. He loves it too and I love skating with him. He teaches me new tricks. Mum says it’s a good family activity. We have met lots of other families who skateboard too. We are so excited for our new skateboarding park and the big opening is this Saturday.”
