“This is a photo of my fathers class sitting on the steps to what is now the Lismore Conservatorium. My Dad is the little one 4th from the left back row. He was born and raised in Lismore and left Lismore when he was 19 to reside on the Northern Beaches of Sydney where I was born and raised. His name was Nigel Hodge. I moved to the Northern Rivers in 1994 and it felt like I’d come home which was really strange as I loved the Northern Beaches. He died when he was just 42 so I can’t ask him about the people in this photograph so maybe you can help. This photo would have been taken about 1938 – 39 I think. So maybe some of these children are your parents, grandparents?”
This is a great project below I just found out about..get involved humans x
“Sad stories, happy stories and even the cheeky!
Realartworks.Inc want your stories and memories past, present (and even future!) of the buildings on the cnr of 110 Magellan and Keen St. Lismore. Together with artists from the community and NRC, these memories will became part of a two day multi arts extravaganza in 2016 in which the buildings themselves become the canvas for large scale projections, dance, music and drama! But we need the communities help!! We need people to post their photos and antidotes to us or help identify people and places in photos so we can reflect the diversity of the people and orgs who have used these buildings. You can contact us on sunita@realartworks.org, post letters to 574 Horseshoe Creek Rd, Kyogle, NSW 2474 or visit the events website http://bigyarnday.wix.com/building
Please share this post, as this is a exciting and unique project that celebrates our community !”
