“The magic thing about this week is there were a couple of lovely births that I attended, absolutely beautiful young couples and apart from seeing the baby when it’s born, its just so awesome when that baby comes out. Just watching the transformation on this young girls face and she becomes a mum…. Oh! it’s getting me choked up already just thinking about it! That’s what I love about what I do! My career spans 40 years so I’ve lost count as to how many babies I’ve seen come into the world. At the moment I’m in a job where the midwife is involved from the beginning so the women know the midwife right through, one carer throughout the pregnancy up till several weeks after the birth. As I said though when they get that baby and the face becomes a mum, it’s just magic!”
