” I lost my son last July to brain cancer. He was only 26, his name was Samuel and he was only married for 9 weeks. Sam had a major brain bleed in January, was flown to the Gold Coast and he wasn’t supposed to come through but he did. He passed away 6 months later! he had a Glioblastoma brain tumour. He passed away on the 15th July at St Vincents in Lismore, It was actually a relief to see him go as he was suffering and he would never have wanted to live like that. He was into his Rotary cars and always thought he may die in a car crash. He left behind his wife and 3 other siblings and devastated us all. On the positive side we got to say goodbye and so many don’t get that opportunity and we had a wonderful Doctor with Richard Deaker. So all my kids and their friends are participating in a run on the Gold Coast on Sunday. They have called themselves ‘Sam’s Gamblers’ as his fave song was ‘The Gambler’ and we even played that at his funeral. He had a lot of friends because he was such a beautiful soul. You never get over it!”
