“I was born in Lismore, lived here my whole life and I love it. I don’t want to live anywhere else! I think it’s a beautiful area we live in. I grew up in Tullera and when my parents split up I moved into town. My partner Jackson and I just invested in 30 head of Angus beef cattle. I’ve always been a country person. I love the country scene and have always had a great appreciation for our country and what the land provides for us. We agist our cattle out at The Channon and on Jacksons parent’s property in Backmede. I’m living with my mum in East Lismore at the moment and saving to buy a property of our own by the end of the year, hopefully. I finished my HSC 12 months ago at Richmond River, went on and studied a Diploma of Tourism and Events at Tafe and at the moment I’m working and saving.

Miss World Australia is the largest and most prestigious beauty pageant in the world and I’m actually a state finalist which is huge. Im so ecstatic that I’ve even made it this far. It’s such a wonderful opportunity. I put my heart and soul into everything I do. I never take the easy way out and I’ve always worked really hard for what I want. At the same time as being able to further my own journey, I can also give back to my community, raising funds for Variety, the children’s charity. Variety help disadvantaged children, sick children, children with disabilities. PCYC in Lismore already have an existing relationship with Variety. Variety donated PCYC with a coach so they can pick up children and take them to sporting events, tournaments etc.

Being a rural girl in a small country town I’m feeling like it’s a little harder to raise funds because I don’t have that exposure to the big city and big events that some of the girls have. We come together though in Lismore as a community. I have had so much support from my family and friends and the community here. Jenny Dowell, Thomas George, Kevin Hogan all wanting to help and support me which has been so amazing.

I’m running an event on May 6th at Lismore Workers Club. Its a fashion parade, comedy show with Mandy Nolan, raffles, an auction, TripADeal have donated a $7000 holiday to be put in the auction. I’m selling tables of 10 at $60 a head. What I love about Miss World is that it’s not just based on what you look like, it’s your knowledge and your world knowledge. It’s also based on what you can give back to the community. Miss World’s slogan is ‘beauty with a purpose.’
