“ We live in Coffee Camp and Sam’s just moved home from Melbourne after completing a Graphic Design degree.
I’ve been growing organic commercial sprouts now for 14 years and more recently we started our enterprise called ‘Homestead and Co’ and we make wax wraps for covering food, actually re-usable eco friendly cling wrap which is a cloth that has been dipped in wax and it moulds to the bowl to cover food. We sell these at the Lismore Organic Market and I’ve had a stall there for about 12 years now. We also supply outlets like Fundies, Good Juju, Eltham Valley Pantry, and a few galleries and stores like the Green Bank at Nimbin. I’m very lucky to have Sam design all this beautiful packaging, it’s been so much fun working with my daughter.”
Sam – “Yes next year I have to get an adult job and work in a firm but for now I’m doing freelance and working with mum.”
Carol – “I just want to add that I think this area is such a fantastic area for raising children and growing food and starting up creative enterprises. Its all very well received and people are very generous around here.”
If you could invite any 3 people in the world past or present to your Christmas table who would they be?
“Well I can think of 6 people who I would invite out of the whole world and they are already coming.. That would be my family”
