Katie – “Ever since I was little I’ve had a massive sweet tooth so since I was about 8 years old I loved going to the cupboard or fridge, looking at the ingredients and coming up with what I could bake from there, mainly just for the family. I did my first 4 tier fondant wedding cake at 19 and I was always creating desserts for friends who all started getting engaged and married so I moved on to wedding cakes. I get bored easily and need to grow and I love a challenge. I moved to London when I was 21 and ended up running the kitchen at Hummingbird Bakery in Portabello Rd in Notting Hill for 17 months and helped run the biggest cupcake stall in the famous Portabello Markets which was insanely busy and from that realising I wanted to have my own business. I do the Lismore Carboot Market, I’m doing a beautiful, big Valentines Day box with lots of treats and a Gluten Free box as well.
