Aaron and his brother Corey

Aaron – ” We run the Lismore airport together, we’re the REX men and our mum runs the coffee shop here. We grew up on the Northern Rivers, we were in the Eureka hills most of our life. I’ve been here for 10 years now with my brother running the airport and I couldn’t think of a better place to be. We love being part of the Lismore community, knowing everybody. It’s a joy to come to work, we do work seven days a week so we are hard workers but we love what we do.”
I remember once you personally delivered my bags to my door on a very rainy night, do you often do that?
“We go the extra mile because we want to. We’ve given lifts to people, put some up in motels, delivered bags across the country side, we deliver animals, we give everyone in Lismore their chosen seat that they want. I know some Lismore people want their chosen seat and we do that. I love it and we do know everyone here at the airport and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
What would you be doing if you weren’t working here do you think?
“I did my primary school teaching degree but I didn’t go into that. Our dad was a flight attendant with Qantas for 20 years so we’ve grown up around planes so we’re plane mad. Always have been and always will be.”
“I love how in Lismore you can be who you want to be and be proud of it and we are such an embracing warm community. We are all loving toward each other. I know everyone from parliamentarians to council staff to butchers to the little elderly ladies I help up and down the stairs. You can be proud of who you are here. We are all brilliant in Lismore you know. Best place to live in the world!”
